Hi there! My name's Traci! My work has largely been with LGBTQ, kink, and poly identified folks. You can read more about my work with these communities and my private practice on COM|PASSionate REVOLT.
Are these communities or any community really so different from those made up of folks that work in the adult industry or sex work? My belief is that this answer is both "yes" and "no."
Work is just one aspect of who we are and yet it is also intimately connected to our identities and life stories. I believe this is especially true for folks that work in (rather than just around) sexuality. Our culture's fear and shame around sexuality can get acted out as stigma and discrimination upon those who challenge us by being visible sexual beings and/or producing erotic content. This varies greatly from other forms of employment.
Everyone deserves a neutral space where they can heal. A space where they can discuss the trials and tribulations of their job and life without the assumption being that negativity in one is the cause of negativity in the other.
